December 13th, 2010 – The Druid’s Idol
This fantastic rock formation can be found amongst Brimham Rocks, Yorkshire. Taken during my first visit to this magical place, I’m looking forward to returning to explore further.
Understandably, climbing on this is no longer allowed! Amongst the surrounding edges and boulders some fantastic climbs can be found, which do not receive the attention they deserve…
November 30th, 2010 – The Final Moves
Today’s photo was taken on the same trip as yesterday’s shot. A few friends and I headed up to Almscliff, a fantastic rocky outcrop situated atop a gentle hill to the north of Leeds. For once, the British weather treated us well, with continuous sunshine all day. In today’s shot we see Chris reaching the final moves on a moderately difficult climb, the last of the day.
I’ve tried to achieve a tilt-shift effect with this photo – and I’m pretty happy with the results. As I don’t yet own a proper DSLR, let alone a tilt-shift lens, this affect has been generated entirely in post-production.
November 27th, 2010 – Nuts!
So… this is my first post! This blog will hopefully serve as a means of sharing my photos with a wide audience, providing critique, encouragement and feedback.
Today’s photo is the first PhotoMatix 4 Tone Compressed image of mine that I’ve liked. The scratches and markings on these DMM Alloy Offset climbing nuts seem to really stand out using this setting.
